Beaver North Star

With Social Distancing, the project for the White Tails to earn their North Star Award this year will be different.

Here are some suggestions for different North Star Projects that White Tails should be able to complete during this time.

The North Star Project should have about 2 hours worth of activity for the Beaver.

 

Cleaning up garbage while on daily walks for a few days
 - taking precautions to help prevent infection spread

Creating messages of support for Key Workers to share with the Community
 - ie making sidewalk chalk pictures or posting online for people to see

Sharing pictures in your window to help the Community stay happy during this time

Creating Kindness Rocks and leaving them in the neighbourhood to share Happiness with others

Plant Flowers and tend the flower bed to help keep the world a pretty place

Helping Neighbours by raking leaves and helping with gardening/lawns

Creating a Bird Nest Supply Shop 

Making toys for dog shelters

Learning about and adopting an animal at the Toronto Zoo or similar

Learn about Bees by completing the Bee Awareness Challenge and take it to the next step and create a "Bug Hotel" or "Bee Hotel"

Complete the Earth Day Challenge and then up the challenge with either:
Think about ways to reduce the amount of waste and try to have no garbage for 2 weeks (If you do have garbage know why you have it and what you could do in the future to not have that particular garbage)
OR
Use a carbon footprint calculator to find our your carbon footprint and try to reduce your footprint over 2 weeks

Participate in the Cities Tree Planting & Stewardship Events. Check out their Calendar of Events for a date and time that works for your family.
